Without You I Would not Exist Either

When one enters the exhibition room, in which this artwork is installed, one might think that the mirror part of the work is a doorway to another exhibition room. Only while coming closer a spectator realizes that she or he is looking at her or his own image in the mirror. By getting closer, she or he also enters the thermal mass of the artwork. We are used to cuddle up in the cold to keep ourselves warm. In the warm, we relax and open up ourselves, we release closer to the others and the environment. The confrontation with this artwork is about viewing, embodiment and authorship.
